We are the KZN ICT Centre located at the outskirts of Durban Central, servicing the greater Durban community. We belong to the Department of Education in partnership with the Vodacom foundation. In this capacity, we train officials, educators, principals and learners about ICT in education, its importance, its uses in the learning enviroment and the ways in which we can marry quality education with ICT to create a society where learning is fun, accessible and digital. 

 

KZN ICT Centre is a branch of the CSS:  Curriculum Support Services

 

Curriculum Support Services is made up of the following components:

• ICT

• MST

• ELITS

• Education Centres

 

The KZN ICT Centre organises IT and ICT Training through Trainers, like Schoolnet, Sangari, Mindset, Cisco, Casme, Univ of Stellenbosch  Maths and Science, and has recently started engaging Prof. Mazisi Kunene Foundation to help with the improvement of the Maths Science and Accounting subjects in High Schools.

 

We are one of the 5 Provincial CISCO Academies, recently nominated for a new up and coming award-winner as a best perfoming new comer. We have produced Graduates in IT essentails 5.0 and other IT qualifications. As the KZN ICT Centre academy, we also teach and train community members on ICT in education.

 

Our aim is to equip, educate and enhance our communities and society through knowledge, using the vast world afforded to us by ICT.
